About Me

My name is Paul Shin (he/him). I’m an integrative trauma therapist originally from South Korea, now based in Ireland. I’ve also lived in the U.S. (New York and Los Angeles), where I studied acupuncture and nursing, which led to my current whole-person approach to healing.

As a gay man who grew up in a culture where being openly queer wasn’t safe or visible—and who also completed mandatory military service—I know what it’s like to navigate environments that didn’t allow me to fully be myself. These experiences shape my commitment to creating a safe, affirming space where clients can reconnect with their bodies, identities, and inner resources.

I work with adults living with complex PTSD, developmental trauma, and relational wounds. My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. Drawing on my background in Arts Psychotherapy (MA), I often incorporate creative tools like art to help clients explore and express their inner world in ways that feel safe and meaningful.

*I am also a student of Somatic Experiencing®, a body-based approach to trauma resolution that supports nervous system regulation.

How to book

  1. The first step for us to get started is booking an introductory session. Introductory sessions are 30 minutes long and completely free.

  2. Our introductory session will be an opportunity to meet and ask any questions we have for each other. I will be interested in what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our work together. I will also explain to you how I work and you will be given time to consider if you would like to move forward.

  3. If we decide to work together, you will be sent a link to a Google Form containing a collaborative working agreement as well a booking link for future sessions.

  4. In order to accommodate varying needs and neurotypes, I offer a traditional 50 minute session, as well as an extended 90 minute session and an abbreviated 30 minute session. You can avail of an extended or abbreviated session at any time. Reduced rates are also available for those experiencing financial hardship.
